We're giving you An Inside Look of a house very close to home for founder Haley because it literally is her childhood home!  Follow along for a tour of her parents' bathroom remodels led by design company Lynden Lane Co.

Everhem had the privilege of working with The Lynden Lane Co., a family run interior design company, on a few projects. We learned first hand how carefully crafted and well designed they create their spaces, and Haley immediately recommended them to her parents since she has left her Interior Design days behind focusing fully on Everhem.

"Each bathroom was connected to a space with its own personality. We leaned into the unique character of each room to inspire the design for the en-suite bathroom." - The Lynden Lane Co.

We went with Woven Woods in Seashell and Khaki in two separate bathrooms. The Woven Woods brought texture and a natural finish to the spaces.

In addition to Woven Woods, the Lynden Lane Co. used COM, which is available exclusively for our Everhem Trade members. COM allowed for more playful patterned fabrics to compliment the space.

When it was time to choose the window treatments, Everhem and The Lynden Lane Co. exchanged ideas, reviewed fabric options and ultimately landed on very harmonious and beautiful window treatment designs.

A: We draw inspiration from everything from a fashion show, to a piece of art, to a menu at a restaurant, to our favorite hotel lobby.

Q: What are window treatment tips that guided you on this project and others?

A: We first have to know how the room is going to be used to know how much light we want to let in the room and if it is more decorative or functional. Then we look at the design and how they can enhance the space.

Co founder, Haley’s favorite place in Malibu is none other than Paradise Cove. This spot helps her relive memories of flying kites, boogie boarding, and enjoying popsicles as a kid with her family. When Haley thinks of the quintessential Southern California coastline, Paradise Cove is always the first thought that comes to mind. When creating the Malibu Collection, She immediately envisioned the water hitting the rocks that meet the bluffs and how the bluffs get their shapes from the ocean’s current causing erosion over time. The natural terrain left us with the most beautiful coastline and the inspiration behind the Malibu Woven Woods Collection featuring Bluff and Dune.

Adam, co-founder of Everhem, finds himself drawn to his favorite spot in Malibu, the Getty Villa. Strolling around, taking in the art and architecture while sipping a latte is his ideal Saturday with the family. Adam would let Privacy Lined Bluff live in his office so the natural tones help take him back to when he walks across the travertine stone path, feeling the Malibu breeze cool him off in the beating sunlight.

Dayna, our Director of Strategy and Operations, loves exploring the trails in Malibu when she makes her way up from San Diego for a visit. One of her favorite spots is the Point Dume Cove Trail - getting plenty of fresh air along the cliffside path that overlooks the ocean, followed by the perfect post-hike award, the beautiful Malibu beach. There she loves to relax in the sun and unwind on the weekend with her husband and son. Dayna pictures the Malibu Collection through her kitchen in Unlined Dune. It would allow the golden warmth of the morning sun in while she sips her first cup of coffee for the day transcending her for a moment to those Malibu views and beaches.

Molly’s, who handles all things brand and partnerships, favorite spot in Malibu was almost too hard to pick. From some of the best beaches to Malibu Yogurt, she landed on her favorite Malibu spot, the Summer Somewhere Wines Tasting Room outside of Fred Segal Malibu. Molly finds the Malibu collection lends itself perfectly to nearly every room in her home. She envisions privacy lined Malibu Woven Woods in Bluff for her living room to warm up the space and block the afternoon sun as she pours herself a crisp glass of Summer Somewhere rosé. Does it get much better than that?!

Breana, who handles Everhem socials, finds comfort in exploring and stumbling upon local beaches and hidden Malibu gems. Her favorite spot in Malibu is the Point Dume Nature Reserve. The smells, sounds, and colors of the coastline create the perfect space to reflect, relax, and escape the noise of LA. Breana envisions Privacy Lined Dune in her bedroom as a reminder that home should be a tranquil space and loves the idea of the sunlight shining through creating the magical “golden hour” all day.

Natalie, who handles Everhem socials, is an LA native and feels most at peace when she and a few friends lounge at a local, private quiet Malibu beach. Growing up in the chaos of city life, Natalie chooses to slow down by walking the steps that lead to her favorite spot in Malibu, Lechuza Beach. She loves the idea of Unlined Woven Woods in Bluff, for her kitchen window so she can always feel that same serenity while cooking her favorite meals.

Nina, our Trade Manager, spends her weekends at her favorite spot, the Malibu Country Mart. A sun hat and a pair of comfortable sandals are all she needs to shop, eat, and soak in the Malibu sun. Nina would have Blackout Dune, in her bedroom. She loves the thought of bringing in the natural elements that resemble Malibu beaches to help her rest and unwind after a busy day out and about.

Lisa, our Customer Experience Manager, lives miles away from Malibu, but when she’s in town, she makes her way to her favorite spot, Broad Street Oyster. The famous Lobster Roll is a must have when driving the Pacific Coast Highway. She would have Unlined Bluff all around her dining room to take her back to her favorite Malibu memories!

Introducing An Inside Look of a home close to co-founder, Haley! Haley's sister, Katelyn, invites us in for a peek at her Los Angeles home to show how Everhem transformed her space. The sister duo worked hard to design the perfect window treatments that would bring a light and cozy vibe to Katelyn's home. Katelyn would define her style as "neutral with a sophisticated warmth" and her sister, Haley, would define it as "traditional and polished with a touch of Hollywood Regency". Haley's interior design background and Katelyn's clear vision for the space was all they needed to elevate the spaces their families spend so much time together. Keep reading to see how Haley and Katelyn replaced the heavy black shutters with Everhem!

Katelyn strived to have a functional space that was both beautiful and kid-friendly. She wanted anyone who walked in to feel like this would be the perfect place to cozy up! Haley and Katelyn went with Sheers in Cloud to do just that. "I'm a hopeless romantic, so I'm really jiving on the Sheers lately! I love how it softly filters the light and gives this effervescent vibe." - Katelyn

Haley's favorite part of her sister Katelyn's home is a tie between the living room and the dining table area. To her, they are the heart of the home when their families get together. It's a perfect mix of sophisticated and welcoming for adults to chat and drink while the kids run and play!

Pleats may seem like a minor detail, but let us assure you, they can drastically change the look and feel of your window treatments. First, let's dive into Drapery and the three types of Pleats Everhem offers. Box, Tailored and Pinch are the three pleat styles you have to choose from. While each are equally beautiful, you may be leaning towards one over the others to achieve a certain look.

Box: Box Pleat Drapery is sewn in a such a way that the actual pleats are on the back side of the Drapery. It has a structured and columnar form giving a space a modern and casual feel.

Tailored: Tailored Pleat Drapery is pinched at the very top, allowing each individual pleat to gradually widen from top to bottom. This transitional option is perfect for either contemporary or traditional spaces.

Pinch: Pinch Pleat Drapery is pinched about 3 inches down from the top of the drape creating a "bow-tie" look at the top before gradually widening out. This Pleat style truly speaks to the traditional leaning areas.

On top of the three Pleat styles we offer for Drapery, we also provide two Pleat styles for our Roman Shades: Flat and Pleated.

Flat: Flat Roman Shades are square across the bottom with no structured pleats for a clean and casual look. This pleat style is ideal for any space, it is our "best all around" offering.

Pleated: Pleated Roman Shades have structured pleats sewn into the fabric for a polished and traditional look. This pleat style offers a couple helpful functions, including, helping Blackout Lining stay structured and adding an interesting design element to an area.

Welcome to An Inside Look of Stephanie Beatriz's Los Angeles home. Stephanie wanted to create a space that felt welcoming, tranquil and relaxing, and we were thrilled to be part of achieving that goal.

Stephanie, an LA based actress with a career full of whirlwind moments and travel, knew it was important to her to have a home that allows her family to rest and reset before the next hectic cycle begins.

"I waited a while after we moved in to decide on window treatments. A few times I wanted to throw something up just to block the light that was coming in, but I'm glad I didn't. Letting all that light in, living in the space, understanding where we needed more privacy and seeing how the spaces in our house functioned with people in them was so helpful. By the time we were ready to take the plunge, it was easy to decide what kind of window treatments we needed and where!"

She describes her design style as modern Scandinavian with cozy and soft elements mixed with toys and trinkets from her adorable toddler. Stephanie pulled inspiration from Hlx Island House in Puerto Rico, designed by John Hlx and resonated with his way of creating simple and undemanding environments allowing leeway for personal interpretation and inspiration.

Additionally, she stumbled upon an Everhem photo that became another source of inspiration for the home. When it came time to choosing her window treatments, we were the only option.

"A photo of Everhem window treatments was one of the reference images I used for what I wanted our house to feel like. I brainstormed a list of how I wanted to feel in the house and then searched for images that gave me the feeling. Lo and behold, Everhem was one of the strongest for me. In fact, the large glass doors in our bedroom and the Everhem window treatment on them are very similar to that image and they give me an incredibly peaceful feeling everyday when I wake up to see them! I wanted the space to feel like we could let the outside world fade away and retreat to a home that allows us to incubate creatively"

We love how Stephanie mixed and matched our window treatments throughout her home. She used Unlined Woven Woods in Onyx in the kitchen to add texture and dimension, and paired Privacy Lined Drapery in Storm and Roman Shades in Oyster Trim in the den, creating a true oasis.

"Lightness and brightness in a space is vital to me. The openness; it's amazing to be sharing the different spaces together while doing things separately, like working on a project while my kiddo plays and my husband, Brad, cooks breakfast in the kitchen! The colors in my space make me feel really happy. I love the soft white, grey, creamy pinks and sage greens."

While it was nearly impossible for her to pick a favorite room, she ultimately landed on their bedroom. As someone always on-the-go, she wanted to create a space that felt both luxurious and homey. Like your favorite hotel room where everything is just right. She selected Blackout Drapery and Roman Shades in Bone to brighten and complement the space.
