Pleats may seem like a minor detail, but they can drastically change the look and feel of your window treatments. At Everhem, we offer three distinct drapery pleat styles—Boxed, Tailored, and Pinched. Each pleat style has its own unique characteristics, so let’s take a closer look at them to help you decide which one is right for your home.
The Box pleat drapery is sewn in such a way that the actual pleats are on the back side of the drapery so that a structured columnar look appears in the front view. This pleat style is ideal for modern or casual spaces where a contemporary appearance is desired.
The Tailored pleat style involves pleats pinched at the top of the drapery, gradually widening from top to bottom making this transitional offering our most popular option. This pleat style is best suited for when you want the best of both worlds in that it can work in contemporary or traditional spaces and anything in between.
The Pinch pleat style features pleats that are pinched about 3 inches down from the top of the drapery, creating a distinctive "x" at the pinch before gradually widening out. This classic pleat style exudes timeless sophistication , perfect for the most formal spaces and traditional design aesthetics.
When selecting a drapery pleat style, consider the overall ambiance you want to achieve and the existing decor of your room. The Boxed pleat is ideal for contemporary settings, while the Tailored pleat offers versatility for transitional spaces. For a more formal or traditional look, the Pinch pleat will add elegance to your windows.

This week, we are excited to feature our Custom Control options for Roman Shades and Woven Woods. We have curated the details of each offering with Everhem expertise and streamlined the ordering process to be easy for you.
Chain Loop features an Antique Brass bead chain and is manufactured in a loop, it draws the shade open and closed as well as holds the shade's desired position. This is our tried and true option for shades small and large alike. We provide a Chain Clip to secure the Antique Brass chain into place for a clean, safe space.

Available from 10"-140" wide
Inside Mount: You must have 2 3/4" of flat mounting depth
Outside Mount: Shade will project 2 3/4”
Cordless features our wood tassel centered on the back of the shade at the bottom for a clean look. Pull the tassel downward slightly and the shade will spring up smoothly. To draw the shade closed, pull the tassel down then give the tassel a slight tug to stop the shade in your desired position. We recommend Cordless because it offers the highest level of safety for little ones as well as a clean look aesthetically – no cords are visible from the front of the shade.

Motorization features a rechargeable motor that is made to last and virtually silent. Using the pre-programmed remote, draw your shade open and closed or stop the shade in your desired position with a press of a button. We recommend Motorization for windows that are hard to access with a manual control, when the highest level of safety for little ones is desired, or when you're looking to invest in your forever home. Motorization offers a high end, luxury feel.
