Mounting Height: Consider the additional mounting height above the window. Everhem hardware requires a minimum height of 3 1/2 inches above your window trim for proper installation. Consider Depth: The depth of your window determines which Custom Control you can choose for your Inside Mount shade. Measure the flat mounting surface available on your window, rounding down to the nearest 1/4 inch. This information helps in selecting the right shade control.
Outside Mount Roman Shades/Woven Woods: Expansive and Stylish
Window Frame Width: For outside mount shades, measure the outside edges of the window frame width at three locations. Round up to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. To ensure complete window coverage, add about 2 inches to the total width measurements, accounting for your desired additional width.
Window Frame Length: Measure the outside edges of the window frame length in three places and round up to the nearest 1/8 of an inch. To guarantee full coverage once mounted on the wall, add 5 inches to the total height of your shade. Be sure to account for your desired additional mounting height.
Designer-Recommended Mounting Heights:
Wall Mounting Above Window: A recommended height of 5 inches above the window trim.
Door Mounting: Suggested height is 2 inches above the window.
Window Trim Mounting: No additional mounting height is required, but ensure you have 2 inches of flat mounting surface on the trim itself.
Please Note: If you select Shade Operation Front and are mounting on drywall above the window, your window trim's depth should be less than 2 1/2 inches. If the depth exceeds 2 1/2 inches, we suggest selecting Shade Operation Back for a seamless fit.
